My Motivation
We need a voice from the classroom on the board to meet the rising challenges facing public education.
As an educator with over 25 years of experience, Mancini understands first-hand the direct impact policies and practices can have on staff and students.
If re-elected, she will strive to positively affect systemic change to leverage our expertise in the classroom. Mancini will continue to advance the district's plan for Racial Equity Transformation, by investing in and uplifting the voices of our students, staff, and community.
Together, we can make SLP Schools a place where every student feels welcomed and valued.
My Strategic Priorities
Support and Expand Culturally Responsive Literacy
The ability to read and write is the foundation for all learning. Providing teachers and students with the necessary tools and support is a critical equity issue.
I am committed to:
Implementing culturally diverse practices that value and validate student’s home culture, background, and language
Supporting SLP staff with an evidence-based literacy curriculum so all SLP students can read and write
Supporting instructional strategies that reflect and connect to self, the community, and the world
Address Teacher Shortages and Morale
Schools throughout the country are facing the challenge of hiring and retaining qualified, experienced, and diverse educators.
I am committed to:
Building systems to support staff well-being and increase morale
Investing in adequate resources to help staff meet the academic and social-emotional needs of all students
Recruiting diverse staff that reflects the SLP community
Engage in Lifting up All Community Members
All voices must be involved in the school process. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive SLP school community.
I am committed to:
Prioritizing and engaging all voices in the SLP community to feel welcome, supported, and valued as essential partners
Establishing systems, policies, and structures that close achievement and opportunity gaps
Engaging students and teachers with the SLP Community
